REMOVAL OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE AND METHYL MERCAPTAN BY PACKED TOWER WITH IMMOBILIZED MICRO-ORGANISM BEADS
Sulfur molecule removal. In order to control hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans in gaseous emissions, a biological bed was carried out. After 10 days the culture was able to metabolize pollutants. Operating conditions were studied: pH ranges between 2 to 8, the volumetric load was 6500 g/m3.d for H2S and 4 g/m3.d for MeSH. A two-stage biofilter was recommended.
