INVESTIGATION OF MEMBRANE PROCESSES FOR THE REMOVAL OF VOLATILE FATTY ACIDS
Selective removal of volatile fatty acids from anaerobic fermentation. Batch membrane process using Teflon and ion-exchange membranes were operated as a mean of separating acetic acid from pure acetic acid solution and rumen fluid. During the experiments total acetate concentration, pH and temperature were monitored. Experimental results are presented and discussed.
