Encounter rate between local populations shapes host selection in complex parasite life cycle
The present study aimed to understand how a parasite with a complex life cycle selects a given host succession when several potential hosts are present. Ligula intestinalis (Cestoda, Pseudophyllidea) was considered, which presents a life cycle with three hosts: copepod, fish, and piscivorous bird.
