WASTEWATER TREATMENT PERFORMANCE OF A FILTRATION BIO-REACTOR EQUIPPED WITH A MESH AS A FILTER MATERIAL
The performances of a wastewater treatment filtration bioreactor equiped with a nylon mesh as a filter material were approached using laboratory pilots. Datas were obtained on head loss, fluxes, suspended solids retaining capabilities and clogging. Wastewater treatment efficiency and nitrification rates were also measured. The study concluded that a mesh filtration bio-reactor can be of use as an alternative advanced wastewater treatment system and its performance corresponds to that of a membrane bio-reactor.
