In summer 2001, the VSA polled sewage treatment associations and communal treatment plants to ascertain how far these utilities have tackled management questions and are working with modern management aids. The poll took the form of a self-assessment with about 50 participators. It revealed that sewage disposal utilities are aware of their management responsabilities and intend to proceed further in this direction.
