SBR SYSTEM FOR PHSOPHORUS REMOVAL I. ASM2 AND SIMPLIFIED LINEAR MODEL. II. LINEAR MODEL BASED OPTIMIZATION
Phosphorus removal. Using a sequencing batch reactor (SBR), phosphate was removed (95 %) from 6.7 to 0.4 mg/L. Nitrification was achieved from 19.8 to 0.2 mg/L. A model was developed in order to predict efficiencies of these biological systems. Activated sludge model n°2 (ASM2) linear version was proposed for nutrient removal using the following mechanisms: phosphate release/uptake, ammonification, nitrification and denitrification. Good agreements were found between calculated and experimental data.
