PERFORMANCE OF VARIOUS KINETIC MODELS FOR CHLORINE DECAY
Modeling of chlorine decay. Different kinetic models were tested in order to determine the evolution of chlorine concentrations in aqueous solutions: first order, second order, nth order, limited first order and parallel first order. Calculated values are compared with experimental data obtained in batch reactor (207 experiments). All models are discussed. They give a correlation coefficient in excess of 0.95. First order model seems to be the simple one in terms of simplicity and utilization in network modeling.
