THE DECAY OF CHLORINE ASSOCIATED WITH THE PIPE WALL IN WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
Influence of pipe material on the decay of chlorine in water distribution systems. Pipe materials of high reactivity (unlined iron mains) and low reactivity (PVC, MDPE and ciment-lined ductile iron) were used. Influence of the water velocity, and biofilm coating on the wall decay rate. Results showed a good correlation between wall decay rates and pipes materials.
