MICROBIOLOGICAL WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN THE PARIS SUBURBS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Microorganisms in drinking water distribution system. In the Paris distribution net, the microbiological re-contamination of water is shown by biofilm development due to organic matter residuals. A biological treatment into the water plants optimizes biodegradable organic carbon removal and then decrease the chlorination demand to attain a free chlorine residual at 0,1 mg Cl2/L. Measurements indicate a good bacteriological quality and a minimum disinfection by-product concentration.
