EFFECTS OF NANOFILTRATION ON WATER QUALITY IN THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Influence of nanofiltration on the quality of water produced in a treatment plant and its features in the subsequent distribution system. The study of water quality was conducted in-situ on a drinking water treatment line firstly working with a biological treatment and progressively adapted to nanofiltration. It showed a decrease in the DOC content, thus increasing chlorine stability (i.e. decreasing chlorination level and trihalomethanes (THMs) formation in the distribution system). Nanofiltration also increased biological stability, microbiological quality, and physico-chemical quality of water.
