Membrane filtration for finished water treatment. In order to get better drinking water and especially to remove giardia and cryptosporidium, a post-treatment by ozone or membrane technologies are applied to water stored in reservoir. Membrane processes were chosen due to better oocyst removal (5-log) compared to ozone (1-log inactivation). Microfiltration plant is constructing to deliver 7 000 m3/d in Pittsburg area (USA).
