GROUNDWATER-TABLE AND RECHARGE CHANGES IN THE PIEDMONT REGION OF TAIHANG MOUNTAIN IN GOCHENG CITY AND ITS RELATION TO AGRICULTURAL WATER USE

Groundwater level changes in different seasons and their relation to precipitation with corn and wheat-growing season changes. Groundwater recharge is compared between dry and low irrigation season. Predicted groundwater level rise in relation to annual precipitation is discussed. Comparison of groundwater recharge between low precipitation year (1970,1990) and a rich precipitation year (1996). Discussion on the agricultural water use in piedmont region and the sustainable water management.
