GROUNDWATER FLOW AND GEOCHEMISTRY IN THE LOWER REACHES OF THE YELLOW RIVER : A CASE STUDY IN SHANDANG PROVINCE, CHINA
Geological and hydrologic setting of and alluvial basin. Material and methods of surface and groundwaters are defined. Regional groundwater flow and geochemical patterns are discussed and aquifer transmissivities are given. Distribution of electrical conductivity and groundwater table are presented. Piper diagrams of the water sampled show the evolution of chemical facies. Isotopic features (deuterium and oxygene) are discussed with the influence of the depth of surface water and groundwater. Effects of the ditches and canals on the water budget are evaluated. The vertical redistribution of chloride is analysed with the rainfall and evaporation factors.
