DIFFERENTIAL WATER QUALITY IN CONFINED AND FREE-FLOWING WATER BODIES, LEBANON

Study of the quality of the 2 water bodies, the freely flowing Nahr-Ibrahin river and the Qaraaoun reservoir (an impoundment of the Litani river) through water samplings at different sites and dates during the dry season and measurement of various parameters (pH, conductivity, BOD and heavy metals contents). Differences were observed and were attributed to the domestic wastewater discharges and to the agricultural runoffs.
