Biological autotrophic denitrification tests of steel industry wastewater containing nitrate whose C/N ratio was very low with the aid of Thiobacillus denitrificans. Kinetics of denitrification in the packed column. The performance of a continuous column operation for the synthetic wastewater deteriorated with the decrease of phosphorous concentration, probably due to the decrease of buffering extent at the microenvironment near the sulfur surface.
