COMBINED BIOELECTROCHEMICAL AND SULFUR AUTOTROPHIC DENITRIFICATION FOR DRINKING WATER TREATMENT
Denitrification by bioelectrochemical processes. A reactor with two parts was carried out. In the first part H+ was produced and used in the second part for denitrification. Limestone was required for pH adjustment. Nitrate (30 mg/L) was removed at about 90 % without nitrite accumulation. The sulfate concentration was lower than 170 mg/l. The maximal volume loading rate was 0.381 kg NO3-N
