BIOLOGICAL SOLUTION TO STORM WATER ?

The operation tested consists of allowing a 2-fold increase of the wet weather flow treatment in the biological train of the treatment work by using the storm tanks as additional clarifiers. (56 works were performed from 99 to 2002). The results indicate that high flow biological treatment provides a substantial reduction in wet weather discharges while maintening acceptable process operating conditions.
