ATRAZINE REMOVAL BY POWDERED ACTIVATED CARBON IN FLOC BLANKET REACTORS
Reduction of organic compounds, as atrazine, in drinking water sources. Use of powdered activated carbon. Long retention times can be reached to the high solids concentrations attainable in the blanket. Analysis of operating parameters that in particular, can compromise the efficiency of the treatment. Evaluation of the removal of atrazine by a laboratory-scale reactor-comparison with batch isotherm experiments with the retention time and the DOC throughput. Decreasing of carbon retention time with increasing carbon dose or hydraulic loading rate.
