ANAEROBIC TREATMENT OF DOMESTIC SEWAGE : ESTABLISHED TECHNOLOGIES AND PERSPECTIVES

Development of UASB reactors for anaerobic treatment of domestic sewage since the beginning of the 1980s, particularly in tropical and developing countries like Brazil. New configurations are being developed and tested in research centres aiming to improve the range of application and process performance: study of post-treatment of anaerobic effluents in bench and pilot plants.
