WATER BALANCE CHANGE FOR A RE-VEGETATED XEROPHYTE SHRUB AREA

Using of re-vegetation to reduce and combat the desertification, impact on water resources. Presentation of the study area (Shapotou desert experimental research station, Chine) and the experimentation (lysimeters). The results show that xerophytic shrubs (Caragana Korshinskii) could reduce erosion loss of sand (halt desertification) but re-vegetating could decrease groundwater recharge too.
