Analysis of water demands through gate-controlled, open-channel irrigation delivery systems. Volume-compensation principles were used to route multiple demands in multiple-pool canal systems. It provides a simple, robust, and effective alternative for routing demand changes. The basic concept, developed for a single-demand change in a single-pool canal, computes a schedule of inflow variations.
