TREATMENT OF FRESHWATER FISH FARM EFFLUENT USING CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS : THE ROLE OF PLANTS AND SUBSTRATE
Fish farm wastewater treatment by constructed wetlands. Organic matter and nitrogen removal was correlated with plant biomass. Phosphorus elimination was better with limestone. Thus, two sequential units were recommended: a macrophyte planted basin and an unplanted basin containing steel slag or limestone.
