TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL RAINFALL ANALYSIS ACROSS A HUMID TROPICAL CATCHMENT
Distribution of daily rainfall across a medium sized tropical catchment. Use of a climatological variogram model for mapping rainfall taking into consideration the changing rainfall characteristics through the wet season. Analysis of 30 years daily precipitation data. Four phases were distinguished. Calibration of variograms using a range of rainfall events. Optimization of the number and location of rain gauges in the network with a global climatological variogram. Comparison of the global and the wet season phase climatological variogram models.
