TECHNICAL-ECONOMIC MODELLING OF INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT : WASTEWATER REUSE IN A FRENCH ISLAND

Integrated technical economic model to address management issues in the island of Noirmoutier. Simulation of potable water production, water demand, water storage, transportation and reuse. Assessment of a variety of water management scenarios including wastewater reclamation and reuse for agricultural and landscape irrigation as well as non potable application and desalination. The study shows that, in that island, the water reuse is the most cost effective solution at the present but could be a good solution in the future because of tightened environmental policy.
