SUSTAINABLE SANITATION AND WATER IN SMALL URBAN CENTRES
Review of the global trends in urbanization in developed or less developed regions of the world with respect to availability of adequate sanitation and water supply network and services. Containment, recycling and change in human attitude are key features of a sustained sanitation system. Initiatives like on-site urban ecostations, source separation of urine and faeces, decentralized greywater treatment and integration of ecological sanitation into the cost of housing must be implemented. Case studies in Mexico, India, USA, Australia, Japan, Cambodia, Pakistan.
