SURFACTANT ENHANCED RECOVERY OF TETRACHLOROETHYLENE FROM A POROUS MEDIUM CONTAINING LOW PERMEABILITY LENSES. 2. NUMERICAL SIMULATION
Conceptual and mathematical formulation for napl recovery in 2D heterogeneous laboratory sand tank systems. Details on solubilization modeling and model implementation. The miser code was used to stimulate flush experiments on 1D and 2D laboratory soil columns. Comparison of measured and predicted PCE effluent concentrations as a function of cumulative effluent volume from five surfactants flush experiments with flow interrupt conditions. Description of numerical domain used in sand box simulations. The sensitivity of predicted effluent concentrations to the effective aqueous napl mass transfer coefficients is examined.
