SCALING ISSUES IN WATERSHEDS ASSESSMENTS
The article critically summarises the different scaling up methodologies for watershed assessment. It introduces a methodology, mixing a categorisation classification system and GIS, with the aim of stratifying watershed and scaling soil nutrient information whilst enabling land-use activities to be linked to socio-economic and bio-physical factors. A more general discussion on preventative actions (establishment of buffer zones, source control) brings the paper to a close.
