Regulations and beyond : The U.S. experience
The 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act represent a major change to how drinking water is regulated in the United States. Many positive changes resulted due to a coalition of associations representing water utilities. These changes will improve implementation of the new law and thereby enhance public health protection.
