RIVERBANK FILTRATION : FATE OF DBP PRECURSORS AND SELECTED MICROORGANISMS
Riverbank filtration. A significant reduction of TOC, DOB and disinfections product precursors were observed after a riverbank filtration of water in wells or treated in drinking water plants. TOC and DOD in wells are reduced in a range between 35 and 67 %. Trihalomethane and haloacetic acid formation decrease of 30 to 100%. The log reduction of E. Coli is more than 2.3.
