RISK EVALUATION FOR PATHOGENIC BACTERIA AND VIRUSES IN SEWAGE SLUDGE COMPOST

Detection of pathogenic bacteria (salmonella spp., E. coli 0157) and enteric viruses in sewage sludge composts used for agricultural activities or gardening - Modelisation of the infectious risks linked to these practices by Monte Carlo simulations - Acceptable risk (< 10-4 infectious per year) is obtained for E. coli or poliovirus with 1.0 CFU/g-wet and for salmonella spp with 0.001 CFU/g-wet of compost.
