A REVIEW OF FLOC STRENGTH AND BREAKAGE

Coagulation – flocculation. This review focuses on floc growth and breakage in different operating conditions to get a better theoretical understanding. The mechanisms proposed by previous publications are discussed in terms of floc size. A comparison of floc structure and strength is proposed for different types of flocs (activated sludge, organic matter, sweep and charge neutralized flocs).
