Implementation of the IRMA programme (Interregional Rhine-Meuse Activities) by the European Union to quantify the influence of land surface and construction measurements in flood waters of the Rhine area. Land use scenarios were simulated and hydrological models on a meso-scale were used to assess the consequences of urbanization growth, climate change, precipitation levels, snowfalls etc... on water retention during high water periods.
