PREDICTION OF THE EFFECT OF RECIRCULATION ON THE EFFLUENT QUALITY OF ANAEROBIC FILTERS BY EMPIRICAL MODELS
Modeling of anaerobic filters. An empirical model was developed to predict the recirculation influence on the outlet water quality. Firstly, relationships giving process efficiencies as a function of hydraulic loading rate, COD concentrations and recirculation coefficient were proposed. Then, these equations were applied and a threshold recirculation ratio was defined. Numerical data were compared to results obtained in an anaerobic filter used for the treatment of soybean wastewater.
