OPERATION COSTS AND CONSUMPTION OF RESOURCES AT NORDIC NUTRIENT REMOVAL PLANTS

Five large Nordic country wastewater treatment plants that have recently been extended for nutrient removal are studied. Data have been collected from treatment works with different process solutions in order to compare consumption of manpower,energy,chemicals and costs. Costs and resource consumption in relation to plant design and performance are discussed.
