MODELLING THE WATER BALANCE OF A FREE-DRAINING LYSIMETER USING THE DOWNWARD APPROACH
Description of a site in pine plantation and a lysimeter. Average hydrological data with evapotranspiration, precipitation and lysimeter drainage. Single-layer non-linear model and multiple-layer model capacitance are described. Comparison between time-series predictions and evaluation statistics for annual, monthly and daily correlation, drainage ratio and regime correlation. A downward approach examines inadequate process description and parameterisation. Comparison of drainage duration curves and drainage regimes. Analysis of the sensitivity of model output is detailed via Monte Carlo analysis.
