MICROFILTRATION PRODUCTIVITY AND WATER QUALITY IN RELATION TO PRETREATMENT, TEMPERATURE AND FLUX

Assessment of microfiltration unit. Opération for 6-12 months of a microfiltration pilot plant under wariable temperature, flux and pretreatment conditions, with alum and powdered activated carbon addition. It produced a high and consistent filtered water quality with an average permeate turbidity and particle count in the 2-5 micro-meter range. Evaluation of turbidity in relation with the period between cleanings and particle counts.
