MANAGING GROUNDWATER LEVELS IN AN AGRICULTURAL AREA WITH PEAT SOILS
System of equation for the controlling of groundwater levels as to minimize the decomposition and subsidence of peat soils and improve agricultural production in a network of canals. Field test results for porosities and hydraulic conductivities of soils. Optimization method is applied for minimizing target levels objectives and outputs of a river. Block diagram of decision support system and continuity equations are formulated. Presentation of management module and pilot project with 23 control variables and 6 dependent variables with results worksheet. Results are checked by simulation with Modflow GSM code. Computational results and analysis are discussed.
