INFLUENCE OF CHANGES OF THE WASTEWATER COMPOSITION ON THE APPLICABILITY OF UV-ABSORPTION MEASUREMENTS AT COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOWS

Correlation between UV-absorption and pollution measured as COD at various combined sewer overflows. The applied spectrometer uses a factory installed calibration function, but can not be adapted to the wastewater of a specific measurement location. The effects of wastewater matrix is not sufficient for the calibration. Then, the described procedure is not suitable for applying the instrument for quantitative monitoring of a combined sewer overflow.
