IMPACT OF STAGNATION TIME ON METAL DISSOLUTION FROM PLUMBING MATERIALS IN DRINKING WATER
Metal dissolution in distribution systems. After a stagnation period, metal ion concentrations of copper, lead and brass, increase during the first 24 h. The oxygen level falls below 1 mg/L. The influence of water inorganic composition is difficult to understand to predict metal dissolution. A radial diffusion model is applied and fit well experimental data.
