HYBRID FUZZY-STOCHASTIC MODELING APPROACH FOR ASSESSING ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS AT CONTAMINATED GROUNDWATER SYSTEMS
Description of fuzzy-stochastic modelling functions (FUSRA) for petroleum contamined sites. Development based on Monte-Carlo simulation, probability density functions of contamination levels, evaluation criteria using fuzzy functions and risk assessment based on inputs. Toluene concentration distribution is given in random field. Case study is a natural gas processing plant utilised to remove naphta condensate. Description of integrated risk modelling process and computational mesh of the site. Observed toluene concentrations and computed evolution over one century. Probability distribution of peak toluene concentrations and integrated risk assessment are discussed.
