HEAVILY MODIFIED WATERS IN EUROPE. CASE STUDY ON THE RIVER KENNET

Water Framework Directive: case studies in member states are realised and will identify best practice, consensus or differences in approach taken and developing criteria for the designation of heavily modified water bodies in contrast to natural surface waters. This rapport presents the case study on the river Kennet localised in south central England. Description of context (geology, hydrology, ecological…) and pressures from human activity. Conclusions (Good Ecological Potential, data…) and recommendations.
