FORECASTING WATER DEMAND AND SUPPLY IN SOUTH CHINA

Water resource management in China. Concepts and calculation methods of the damage coefficient, the index of theoretical and practical bearing capacity of water resources. The trends of the bearing capacity have been then evaluated. The results indicate that there is a severe water resources problem, especially in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan zones. The major causes are the excessive amounts of water consumed by industry and of sewage discharge, and an insufficient water supply system.
