FACTORS AFFECTING THE REMOVAL OF GEOSMIN AND MIB IN DRINKING WATER BIOFILTERS
Taste and odor removal in drinking water. In order to improve the removal of geosmin and methylisoborneol from water, filters packed with biological active anthracite and activated carbon were tested. A factorial design experiments were developed to determine the weigh and interactions of parameters such as temperature, concentration, media and biodegradable organic matter level. Biomass levels have a significant effect upon the removal of odorous compounds.
