THE ESTIMATION OF DESIGN RAINFALLS FOR SOUTH AFRICA USING A REGIONAL SCALE INVARIANT APPROACH

The objective of this paper is to outline the regional scale invariant approach for estimation of design flood events and to illustrate the software developed to estimate design rainfalls at any location in South Africa for duration ranging from 5 min to 7 days and for return periods ranging from 2 to 200 years.
