EFFECTS OF PREDATION AND ORP CONDITIONS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF NITRIFIERS IN ACTIVATED SLUDGE SYSTEMS

Protozoa predation and nitrification performances. A nitrifier-denitrifier activated sludge system is carried out in a sequencing aerobic/anoxic batch reactor. Predatory inhibition of nitrifier and denitrifier system is studied. It was found that no significant differences of autotrophic bacteria was observed with and without predators.
