EFFECTS OF ACIDITY AND ALUMINUM ON THE PHYSIOLOGY AND MIGRATORY BEHAVIOR OF ATLANTIC SALMON SMOLTS IN MAINE, USA
Impact of acidity and Al-amount in water on some physiological (osmoregulation), biological (Na/K-ATPase activity, hematocrit and blood Cl concentration) parameters, and on the migratory behavior of exposed Atlantic smolts. Wild smolts are less able to osmoregulate than hatchery smolts, but they spent more time in the river and make more repeat migrations.
