EFFECT OF PH AND IONIC ENVIRONMENT CHANGES ON INTERPARTICLE INTERACTIONS AFFECTING ACTIVATED SLUDGE FLOCS : A RHEOLOGICAL APPROACH
Activated sludge viscosity. The influence of pH and ionic strength was investigated on the sludge viscosity measurements. The surface charge was shown to be the main factor as shown by the correlation between the zeta potential and the equilibrium viscosity. Cation addition decreases the viscosity.
