EFFECT OF NaCl ON THERMOPHILIC (55?C) METHANOL DEGRADATION IN SULFATE REDUCING GRANULAR SLUDGE REACTORS
The aim of this work was to verify the feasability of thermophilic (55°C) upflow anaerobic sludge bed reactors fed with methanol as the sole electron donor and a high sulfate concentration and to assess the effect of high influent on a granular sludge inoculum previously not adapted to NaCl. The effect of low influent NaCl on the performance in the same reactor was assessed as well.
