DISINFECTANT EFFICACY OF CHLORITE AND CHLORINE DIOXIDE IN DRINKING WATER BIOFILMS
Chloration at low concentration level was demonstrated ineffective in inactivating hetertrophic bacteria (with residual concentration of 0.1-0.25 mg/l) to maintain disinfection in distribution systems. Chlorine dioxide at high dose is more effective for biofilm in heterotrophic bacteria at low concentration of 0.25 mg/l.
