DEVELOPMENT OF A NATURALLY DERIVED COAGULANT FOR WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Proteins as a coagulant for water and wastewater treatment. Charged soluble proteins extracted from a tropical tree are used to coagulated and flocculated organic matters. Performed in a pilot scale unit, turbidity and COD are determined as a function of operating conditions. This process is proposed for utilizations in developing countries.
